AI, ChatGPT, and the GSDM

Use of AI, ChatGPT, and other AI options is advancing rapidly. In particular . . .

       -----  Packages promptly delivered correctly? Imagine that being done without use of AI and/or spatial data.

      -----  Read the article in Time magazine October 9, 2023 about Elon Musk and his desire to "steer" development of AI.
               That issue also contains other excellent information about the eventual impact of AI.

      -----  Follow current news about the change of leadership at OpenAI, the involvement of Microsoft, and others.

      -----  Should AI be "steered" for the benefit of society or allowed to advance without regard to consequences?

     -----  Behind the scenes, a common true 3-D environment is critical for exchange of spatial information between AI apps.

     -----  To what extent, if any, should a license be required of persons designing/developing AI apps requiring use of spatial data?

AI   = Artificial Intelligence: AI has impressive recall, but AI cognition has yet to be perfected.

GPT = Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) runs on a language model architecture created by OpenAi. 

An OpenAi  quote is. . . 

ChatGPT is a trained model which interacts in a conversational way. The dialogue format makes it possible
for ChatGPT to answer follow-up questions, admit its mistakes, challenge incorrect premises, and reject
inappropriate requests.

Observation: Although the answers may seem to be logical and correct, bogus answers do happen. In
general, the responses appear to lack the specificity needed to support informed decisions on policy 
issues. If the response is "learned," does that mean a subsequent answer will be better? I don't know!
